Artino SR-144A Shoulder Rest

"This shoulder pad is one of the few that dramatically delivers on providing acoustic benefits to your violin. I have 3 violins, a brand new modern one, a late 19th C French, and an 1830s significant Italian instrument. All three of them sound strikingly warmer and clearer with the Artino than any other shoulder rests I have tried. The change is big enough that any non-musician paying attention can hear it, and every violinist who has tried my pad has found the same effect. It is true that the foam is not durable, but the foam is easily glued back onto the wood if it becomes loose and these are inexpensive to replace. Mine have all lasted a couple of years with very regular use. This is money well spent if you want a low-cost, amazing upgrade to the sound of your instrument."

This shoulder rest fits well much like the Kun or Everest BUT it is not as well made. The shoulder pad became unglued with a month of light usage.

The design of this shoulder rest worked better for my child than Kun's. Unfortunately, the foam has started to separate from the base in two places after a few months of use. We are making do with it but not sure it will last as it should.

The foam pad itself is falling apart and is separating from the wood. The wood and fold down clamps are working ok. I plan to cut the foam pad off, scrape the glue off, sand the surface smooth and glue a pad on of some other material.
