English composer Frank Bridge's music has been sadly underrated. A student of Charles Villiers Stanford, he in turn became the teacher of Benjamin Britten. His style is difficult to characterize: his early works are Romantic in sound and scope, while the later ones are more dissonant and structured. This set of Four Pieces for Viola and Piano is comprised of various works, either written or transcribed for viola and piano, ranging in year of composition from 1901 to 1910. For contents, please see "Item Includes."

This edition for viola and piano is published by Faber Music.

Difficulty: A4

Great intermediate pieces

These are great pieces for an intermediate player. They offer some challenges in terms of shifting and tone but, with a little work, are eminently doable and musically enjoyable.
