Franz Hoffmann Concert Bass
Our Franz Hoffmann Concert bass is the result of more than a year's worth of development. We set out to create a sturdy bass able to withstand daily use by the young orchestra player that also has a pleasing, full sound and a professional design. The ribs and back are made from seasoned laminates for strength with a beautifully figured top from solid, aged spruce for maximum resonance. The gamba shape allows for easy reach into the high positions, and hand-applied varnish allows the full spectrum of sound to emerge. Carefully set up and adjusted in Ann Arbor, each Franz Hoffmann Concert bass has been fitted with Helicore strings and an adjustable height bridge. 3/4 size.
