great violin but not the case
The i/10 violin stays in tune well and is well suited for small hands. I would have given the outfit 5 stars but the plastic on the handle of the case breaks so it can't be used or fixed.
Nice sound
Our 6 yr old upgraded from a 1/16 size of lesser quality, so the sound of this Hoffman is a vast improvement! Beautiful color and craftsmanship. Would definitely purchase again.

Great 1st instrument
We are very pleased with our first instrument for our 4 year old daughter. We did order a shoulder rest as well as a chin rest different from the chin rest that is included in this item (per our instructor's recommendation). The quality of the instrument is excellent. Highly recommend!
great starter
We have only had this violin about a month, but so far we have been pleased. This is the second violin we have purchased. The first violin we purchased was used approximately 6 months and due to the size (1/16) and quality we had a lot of issues with it not staying in tune, etc. So far this violin (1/10) has stayed in tune and has such a better sound. It's encouraging for a young student to practice with. Our 2.5 year old practices with it almost daily and I wish it came with an additional bow, but overall we are pleased with the purchase.
