Hummel, Bertold - Sonata brevis - Opus 11a - Cello and Piano - Simrock Original Edition
Hummel, a cellist as well as a composer, spent the spring of 1955 touring southern Africa with a troupe of German musicians. Through this tour, he wrote this Sonata brevis, composing movements in different areas until its premiere in Cape Town. The melody is lively and interesting, and partly due to its use of complex meters and rhythm.
For Cello and Piano. Published by Simrock.
