Jade Rosin
Jade L'Opéra Rosin is a novel formulation with remarkable qualities of dust-free adhesion. The rosin is a favorite among both beginners and advanced players alike. Designed for Violin, Viola, and Cello.
This rosin avoids metallic residues, which do not contribute to adhesion. The result is a highly refined rosin that produces a smooth yet firm grip. Each rosin is mounted on a protective velvet cloth wrap and comes with a protective container.

Jade Rosin
great rosin, very smooth
A really smooth tone
The Jade rosin provides an amazingly smooth tone -- when I first tried it, it was like I was a notch better player, as the improvement over my previous rosin (Hill) was really marked. I went back to Hill for a while (when I lost track of where I'd put the Jade) and soon I wasn't sounding so great. But as soon as I reapplied Jade, wow. Recently, I was playing duets with a violinist friend who'd just had her bow rehaired and was really having a problem getting a good sound from her fiddle, regardless of how much of her rosin she applied. I pulled out the Jade, and she was impressed at the improvement. One downside that I notice is that Jade 'wears off' fairly quickly, and the luscious tone you expect doesn't come out unless you've got a good quantity of Jade on the bow. Anyway, I recommend it 100%.
Works well!
The rosin grips the string firmly, but not too aggressively. I even use this for my students' bows and it seems to improve the sound of their "student" instruments.
Perfect - very smooth
Awesome rosin. Good grip but also so smooth. Highly recommend!
my favorite!
I've used Jade for years. It's a dark rosin with a lot of grip--good if you're trying to bring out dark, powerful tones. It doesn't gunk up the top of your violin and it's easy to clean up. It also lasts a long, long time before drying out.
Jade rocks!
It's magical!
great stuff!
I'm a violist and the cross between light and dark rosin that Jade offers is perfect for me. I get the extra grip of dark rosin i need for thicker strings without sacrificing the smoothness of light rosin. I bet it would be great for violin too but if you're a violist you definitely need to try it!!
Good Stuff
I've tried dozens of brands over the years and have always gone back to Hill dark rosin. But I think I may now switch to the Jade rosin. As others have said, the tone is smoother. I think it may not grab quite as much as others and for that reason, I think it's hard to get as much volume as with some others. e.g., last night I was playing a gig in a very noisy club and had to really put the pressure on to cut through, even with an omni mic. But that being said, I think the smooth tone more than makes up for any (possible) minor reduction in maximum volume. I'm a fan.
FANTASTIC ROSIN
This rosin is simply amazing! The tone is so fantastically smooth (I can't stress this enough!). I just started using it yesterday and have found found a massive change in the sound! I love it!
