Kather, Pamela - Irish Tunes for the Beginning Fiddler - Violin - Book/CD set - Fiddlers Fantastic Publications
At Last! An Irish music tutorial for beginning fiddlers complete with a play-a-long CD! Contains traditional Irish tunes that progress slowly in difficulty, following the skill levels complimentary to the middle of the Suzuki Violin Books 1-2. Although this book is arranged for beginning fiddlers, the tunes are traditional, and have been played by professional fiddlers for dances, and simply for fun, for many years.
Each tune has a simple melody part, and remains mostly in first position, with easy key signatures, simple rhythms, and simple bowings. The book contains informative introductions to each tune, including suggestions for ornamentation and tempo. The accompanying CD contains two tracks for each tune: one slower "practice" track, and one faster "performance" track. For contents, please see "Item Includes".

new violin beginner
I love this book with the CD. The CD plays the song slow than again at the normal pace. I am reordering this for I had my CD case stolen out of my car. Though I still have the book I miss the CD for it was also enjoyable to listen to if you like Irish tunes
