helpful to eliminate "bad page turns"
Some times the music has no convenient "time" for a page turn; so having the extended surface area with the "stand-outs", my stand partner and I are able to have 3-4 pages open and merely adjust the position of the pages when we have a few beats rest. The plastic is very firm and it takes some strong fingers (and practice), to get the back of the extensions "open" so they slide onto the stand the first few times.
