A question I have about the bow
How heavy is this violin bow.-
A question for the team
How many grams does the Violin Bow weigh?
Beautiful sound, light, and quick
Ummm! A great bow, with a little less volume than the others in its class. Very responsive, as if it played itself. But, just a little too light or weighted differently than the others I tried. Not sure it would take the more demanding strokes I am learning. A little curve in the stick, a little shaky, but so much fun to play.
Great Bow for My Intermediate Student
My daughter had been told by her teacher that, even after playing for 3 decades, a bow that she purchased 10 years ago changed the way she played....for the better. I wasn't ready to invest $10k in a 100-year-old bow like she did, but after a lot of research we picked this one. The weight, the flexibility and how it maneuvers did change the way my 10-year-old played. She faced her first bottleneck before we got the bow six months ago when she transitioned from Suzuki to traditional. Almost immediately after we got the bow, her playing went to a different level. This was a worthwhile investment. I wouldn't have believed how much a bow can do and always thought the focus of the outfit should be the instrument itself. This bow opened our eyes to what a great bow can do for the player.
A little underwhelmed
I tried one of these as part of a package deal with a potential violin purchase, thinking it might be a good backup bow. It was well-made, but seemed a bit heavy for my tastes.
