Ravel, Maurice - Pavane pour une Infante Defunte (Pavane for a Dead Princess) For Four Cellos, Score and Parts Published by Schott Music
Ravel's famous Pavane pour une Infante Defunte was composed for solo piano in 1899. Premiered in 1902, the piece brought renown to Ravel, who at the time was still studying at the Paris Conservatoire under Faure. While Ravel was notably critical of his own piece, particularly his orchestral transcription, it is nonetheless considered a defining work of lyricism today.
