Henryk Wieniawski, (10 July 1835 - 31 March 1880), was a Polish composer, virtuoso violinist, and pedagogue who is often regarded as one of the most prolific violinists in history. Adagio elegiaque, Op. 5, is an early composition by Wieniawski being composed when the composer was of sixteen years of age during his Russian tour as a violin virtuoso.

This edition contains the solo part and the accompanying piano part. The violin part and the piano part were edited by Tyrone Greive.
